About Heartwood Bows
Welcome to Heartwood Bows...
My name is Johnny Snyman, I am a professional bowyer and the owner of Heartwood Bows, a small one man operation specializing in the creation of quality and unique custom-made traditional bows.
I first started making bows in 1997 as a hobby and pastime. In 2003 I quit my 14 year long career as a professional diver and became a full-time bowyer.
Being based in South Africa, I use exotic African timbers, horn and bone of various African antelope as mediums to hand-make custom bows with an artistic approach.
I also specialize in providing a versatile range of archery services for film productions.
